Anne Arundel County has not given the green light for the reopening of churches at this time. When the time does come, Archdiocesan Phase 2 guidelines for “public Masses” would allow one third of the seating capacity of the church. However, we must keep in mind that required physical distancing precautions would reduce the one third number of persons permitted to attend even more. We are doing our best to accommodate the many guidelines defined by the Archdiocese for the initial safe reopening of our parishes keeping our parishioners safe. We will only open for “public Masses” if we are completely prepared to open safely. Please know that we are doing our best to meet all the requirements necessary in order to reopen.
We will continue to have Private Prayer and Adoration in the church at both parishes,Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Our Lady of Sorrows from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM until we begin "Public Masses." Parishioners are asked to wear masks and gloves for your protection and that of your neighbor as well as sanitation concerns. Physical distancing is required at all times. No more than 10 persons may be in the church at any given time. Please be mindful of those who may come after you for their turn.
Confessions will be heard from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Father Tim will be in the Parish Hall at Our Lady of Sorrows and Father Jude will be in the Chapel at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Once again, parishioners are asked to wear masks and gloves for sanitation concerns. Physical distancing is required at all times.
The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass and other Holy Days of Obligation remains in place.
You remain in prayer,
God bless us all!
Stay safe, Father Tim
