This was a very different Valentine’s Day!!! The ship is decked out in roses and hearts. There was ice carving, a chocolate fondue station, fruit carvings and endless amounts of chocolate! At dinner every female received a red rose. All of this while we sail the South China Sea on our way to Vietnam and then China. It will take 2 days to get there. I am finding the sea days a time to recharge my body for the next port of call. I enjoy each tour, but the days are long and hot. I find myself looking forward to a sea day or two prior to the next stop.
There are tons of things to do on the ship. Fr. Dumont has Mass every morning. There is a presentation on the upcoming port which I find very informative. I can only take one tour so I enjoy seeing what the other tourists are seeing. Quite an education! There are various board games, shuffleboard, craft classes, movies, exercise classes, talks, 2 pools, concerts and a daily planetarium presentation. This is the only ship with a Planetarium onboard. And you can eat your way into oblivion! I am working to balance eating and exercising.
Today marks my half-way point in this 7-week sojourn. While enjoying all of it, I miss everyone and won’t mind boarding a plane for home….
