Nha Trang is located on the East Sea in southeast Vietnam. The city is one of Vietnam’s premier resorts and is renowned for its long beaches, amenable climate and the opportunities for watersports. This port has been a port of the Hindu kingdom which dominated much of Vietnam from the 3
rdcentury.
Nha Trang was one of the 10 major air bases operated by the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. The city was a popular recreation place for battle-weary American GIs.
Our tour began with a visit to the fascinating Oceanographic Institute to see some of the thousands of marine-life species that live in the surrounding tropical sea. Pictured is a Stone Fish. Can you find it in the picture below? (hint: orange splotches)
