After leaving the Oceanographic Institute we took off for the Catholic Cathedral. 20% of the population is Catholic so this massive cathedral is quite famous. It sits on a high hill so can be seen by boats, cars and motor bikes. The prominent statue of Mary is also very visible.
I don’t know if I wrote about the many, many motorbikes that have replaced cars. I’ve seen people moving furniture, groceries, bales of trash…not to mention families (mom, dad, babies strapped to mom, small children standing between the legs of mom and dad). With all this chaos in the streets I haven’t seen one accident. Our tour bus frequently blows his horn to alert the motorbikes that we are coming. Everyone takes it in stride.
