The first weekend at sea. I think it is the peace of watching the water that makes my body relax. I slept 9 hours last night!!! I couldn’t believe the clock. Each evening I place a room service order for breakfast to be delivered to my cabin. To me this is sheer decadence! After breakfast I went to explore the ship, especially the shops. Not that I’m looking to purchase anything, it is an education to see what people are buying.
The Captain told us we passed over the Tropic of Cancer which means, for one thing, the sun rises DIRECTLY in the east and sets DIRECTLY in the west. The other piece of information he shared dealt with the existence of mountain ranges under this part of the sea.
Last night we received a letter from the Captain. Seems the passage between Muscat and India brings us near a corner of the Piracy Risk Area!!!! We will have additional security on board. In case any pirates are spotted there is an announced “Security Alert” and we are to return to our cabin and keep away from doors and windows. He ended the letter with “while the risk to the cruise industry is considered to be extremely low, we still need to remain vigilant and alert.”
If anything “exciting” happens I will post about it.
Since tomorrow will be similar to today, with addition of Mass, I will not have a post from the ship. I will, however, have a reflection on the readings of the day. Know that you all will be remembered at my Mass!
