‘Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.’ A dog's unconditional love when you walk in the door is how the dog wants to be treated, so you return the love in kind. When you stop and hold him, feed him, take on a walk, etc., he returns to you with love and kindness. How simple the message is to treat others how we want to be treated. I struggle with this commandment, but reflect on the positive return when I fail. What a wonderful world if we all treated others as we wish to be treated. As Jesus taught the disciples, and us, it will be difficult to find "the road that leads to life," however, treating others with kindness is a positive step in the right direction. |
